Major Events & Festivals
As Michael Scott from "The Office" TV show famously said, “Ain’t no party like a Scranton party!” Scranton and all of the communities that make up Lackawanna County pride themselves on unique events and festivals that bring neighbors and visitors alike together to celebrate our history, heritage, and local traditions. Come experience them for yourself, “...'cause a Scranton party don’t stop.”
We celebrate our diverse cultures through parades and food festivals, honor our heritage with unique and exciting events, and support our growing arts scene through a plethora of annual celebrations held throughout Lackawanna County. Family is at the center of our celebrations, both as the catalyst for the occasion and the makeup of the revelers. Each of these events provides an opportunity for everyone to share in the fun. Attend one of our festivals, and you’ll make it an annual family trip before you even get home.
The calendar has twelve months, and in Lackawanna County, we fill each page of our calendar with as many parties as possible. We have festivals celebrating wine, beer, flowers, holidays, music, ice, theater, trains, tattoos, our river, and so much more. Many of these celebrations are unique to Lackawanna County, and some have received national attention. Winter, spring, summer, and fall, Lackawanna County has a festival to celebrate them all.
