Railfest 2020 at Steamtown National Historic Site (NHS) in downtown Scranton is a celebration of railroading's past, present, and future. Enjoy music and food to fill your family with enjoyment.
Saturday, June 13:
Model trains, toy trains, live steamers, track speeders, photographs, artwork, and the real trains are all part of what they have to offer.
Railroad trips in the Steamtown yard, short-distance excursions, and photo opportunities are all part of celebrating the end of summer and the importance of railroading.
They also offer walking tours of historic structures that are normally closed off to the public. Musical programs, magic shows, maintenance of way track car rides, and food options fill out this weekend.
Sunday, June 14:
Sunday is fun day during Railfest. Bring the family and your friends along for a time to remember. Partner organizations will be at the park to promote other activities in the region as well as the other groups involved in railroad preservation.
If you missed a chance to ride the trains or take the walking tours or attend the programs on Saturday, you can take this opportunity to 'fill out your dance card' with the remaining activities. Model train layouts and other activities fill out our weekend of railroad history. Prices and schedules will be added as they are firmed up.
America the Beautiful Passes do not waive the event fee.
