Things to Do in Mid Valley

If you’re looking for a fun family experience, head to the Circle Drive-In for a 5,000-square-foot screen and tasty refreshments. On Sundays from spring throught the fall, the drive-in transforms into Lackawanna County’s biggest and best flea market, with hundreds of vendors and thousands of attendees every week.  During the Halloween season, visit the Drive-In for the Circle of Screams, a unique haunted experience. Enjoy a pleasant walk along riverside trails and picnic benches at the Riverfront Park in Dickson City, which also features a fenced in dog park. Take the kids to the playgrounds at Condella Park, or play nine holes at Wemberly Hills Golf Course, complete with an on-site restaurant, patio, and pro shop for avid golfers.

If you’re looking for a hearty meal and an ice-cold beverage to wash it down, check out the Cheap Shots Bar and Restaurant or Smiler’s Grill and Bar. Diehard sports fans can catch their favorite team on the screen at Happy Valley Sports Bar and The Bar and Company. Pizza-lovers have plenty of spots to choose from, including Luigi’s Restaurant & Pizzeria and Colarusso’s Coal Fired Pizza. If you’re in the mood for Mexican cuisine, there are sauce-covered tacos and enchiladas at La Tonalteca or the Burrito Loco Cantina & Grill. Meanwhile, you’ll find mouth-watering noodles, seafood, and hibachi favorites at the Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse, 570 Ramen, and Aki Asian Restaurant. Don’t forget to drop by Bittoo’s Tikka Junction for spicy curry bowls and other Indian favorites.

From clothes and accessories to bargains and collectibles, the Mid Valley region offers treasures for every shopper. Start at the Viewmont Mall, where you can pick up stylish clothes and home goods. You can also shop for trendy, gently used clothing at Style Encore or upgrade your jewelry selection at Steve Pronko Jewelers. If you’d like to add antiques or handmade crafts to your collection, drop by the Circle Drive-In Flea Fair. Fishing buffs can stop at A&G Outfitters, while coffee drinkers can track down specialty brews at the Electric City Roasting Company.
