Locally called "Parade Day," the Scranton Saint Patrick's Parade is the largest annual celebration in Lackawanna County. This nationally acclaimed event stands as one of the nation's largest St. Patrick’s parades, drawing a crowd of 150,000 spectators for the day-long celebration held the weekend before the Feast of St. Patrick (St. Patrick’s Day). With over 12,000 participants, including Irish groups and societies, bagpipers, high school and string bands, elaborate floats, Irish dancers, and more, the parade celebrates the spirit of Irish culture and tradition.

Parade Route
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade route is marked in green and begins at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue & Mulberry Street, in front of St. Peter’s Cathedral. The parade follows this route:
• Starts on Wyoming Avenue & Mulberry Street
• Left onto Lackawanna Avenue, which transitions into Jefferson Avenue
• Left onto Biden Street
• Right onto North Washington Avenue, passing the Lackawanna County Courthouse (main reviewing booth is near the corner of North Washington Avenue & Linden Street)
• Ends on North Washington Avenue & Vine Street

Back to Top of ListPlan ahead for the Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade! Expect limited parking, road closures, and restricted street access in Downtown Scranton, so arrive early to secure a spot and enjoy the festivities.
Parking & Access Restrictions
- On-street parking in and around Downtown Scranton will be limited for the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
- Central Parking Garages are available near the parade route, but garages located on the parade route will be inaccessible during the parade—entry and exit will not be permitted.
- Barricades will be in place, making it difficult to leave Downtown until later in the day.
No-Parking Areas & Towing Information
🚨 Vehicles parked in designated No Parking areas will be ticketed and towed beginning at 6:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
📍 No Parking Zones:
- Wyoming Avenue: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 blocks
- Lackawanna Avenue: 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 blocks
- Biden Street: 300, 400, 500, 600 blocks
- North Washington Avenue: 100, 200, 300, 400 blocks
- Linden Street: 300, 400, 500, 600 blocks. (400 block closed at 6:00 AM for media)
- Jefferson Avenue: 100 block
- Adams Avenue: 200, 300 blocks
- Penn Avenue: 400 block
- Mulberry Street: 200, 300, 400 blocks
