Downtown On Ice features a winter wonderland full of family-friendly fun and ice-tastic delights, including unique ice carving displays, winter wonderland activities on Courthouse Square, live music, selfie stations, and delectable eats and drinks at downtown establishments.
Downtown On Ice refreshed the beloved Scranton Ice Festival, which was a hit among community members in both 2021 and 2022. Don't let the winter blues get you down; this is the coolest event of the season that you won't want to miss!
Step into the spotlight with the 2025 theme, "Ice, Cameras, Action!" Enjoy captivating ice carving demonstrations, exciting winter activities at Courthouse Square, live music, and selfie stations, all while indulging in delicious food and drink from nearby vibrant downtown establishments!
New this year for the 2025 Downtown on Ice, join the Chills & Cheers Bar Crawl on Friday, January 17th, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM in Downtown Scranton! For $20, enjoy waived cover charges, draft beer specials, discounted Ice Festival specialty cocktails, and an official Chills & Cheers stadium cup. Check-in is at The Hilton Scranton & Conference Center from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Participants must be 21 years of age or older.
Kick off the festivities with a Red Carpet Welcome at Scranton Art Haus on Friday, January 17th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Then, join the Commissioners for a Saturday Morning Kickoff at the "Walk of Fame" at Lackawanna County Courthouse Square on January 18th at 10:00 AM. Throughout the weekend, enjoy live ice carvings, family-friendly activities like face painting and balloon creations, and live performances from musical acts and other entertainers. Don’t miss out on the frosty fun and memorable moments.
