Scranton Half Marathon

Test your mental and physical limits in the Scranton Half Marathon. The annual 13.1-mile foot race energizes Scranton each spring as thousands of runners and walkers take to the streets and trails of Scranton on a spring Sunday morning. Participants truly get a taste of when city meets country as they run through the Scranton neighborhoods, onto the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, and then briefly back onto the street to finish on the track inside Valor Stadium. Proceeds from the half marathon go toward the continued development of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail.

Scranton Half Marathon

Those who prefer a shorter distance are encouraged to participate in the Scranton 5k, held the Saturday afternoon before the Half Marathon. Test your stamina and do both the 5k and the Half Marathon to complete The Doherty Double! Be sure to stop in at the Scranton Running Company for any last-minute race items or a pair of fresh kicks to start next year's training.

Discounted hotel rates are available at the Hampton Inn Scranton At Montage Mountain for Scranton Half Marathon participants and guests. The Hampton by Hilton is just a short 10-15 minute drive from Downtown Scranton.

PARKING: There are no pre-determined vantage points, but the course is very accessible through side streets and along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. Participants and spectators are welcome to park in the Scranton High School and PenFed Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium parking lot and throughout the Central Parking Garages in Downtown Scranton.

We recommend confirming operating hours and getting up-to-date info directly with the venue prior to your visit.
