The Scranton Half Marathon returns to Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, April 4, 2027. The 13.1-mile course takes runners and walkers from city streets and historic neighborhoods to the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail before finishing on the track at PenFed Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium. Race weekend also includes the Scranton 5K on Saturday, April 3, the Doherty Double (5K + Half Marathon), and Kids’ Fun Runs on Sunday.
Proceeds support the continued development and improvement of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail.

From City Streets to Scenic Trails
The Scranton Half Marathon is more than a race — it’s a celebration of community, endurance, and the beauty of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Whether you run it, walk it, or do a little of both, this 13.1-mile course welcomes all paces and offers:

The race starts and finishes at PenFed Field, located at Memorial Stadium, 816 Providence Road in Scranton.
Complete the Medal Series
The 2027 Scranton Half Marathon marks the third year of its four-year finisher medal series. Each medal features notable Scranton buildings and landmarks and includes a base so it can stand independently. Built-in magnets allow the four medals to connect side by side, creating one commemorative display.
Returning runners can add the third medal to their collection in 2027, while first-time participants will receive a distinctive freestanding medal that can be displayed on its own.

Half Marathon Start & Finish: PenFed Field, located at Memorial Stadium, 816 Providence Road in Scranton
Race-day parking is available at Scranton High School, located next to the stadium. On-street parking is limited due to road closures.
Heads up! A detailed parking map will be emailed to all registered runners before race weekend to help you plan your arrival and navigate the area with ease.
Spectator Info
There are no designated spectator zones along the course, but the route is highly accessible via side streets and the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, offering plenty of great spots to cheer on runners.
Finish Line Viewing Spot: Spectators are welcome to watch the exciting race finish from the stadium bleachers inside Scranton Memorial Stadium. It’s the perfect place to catch the final stretch, celebrate with runners, and snap those medal-worthy moments.
Parking is available at Scranton High School near the start and finish. The Central Parking Garages in Downtown Scranton also provide convenient access to viewing locations along the downtown portion of the course.
