Providing an entrance to the Lackawanna River, Sweeney's Beach in Scranton is an ideal location for nature walks, water sports, and get-togethers! This site provides parking and walking paths down to the River shoreline for paddle sports and fishing access. The pathway provides access to gravel bars that offer safe and easy non-motorized boat launch, kayak launch, and withdrawal.
It is adjacent to 40 Poplar Street along the east bank of the Lackawanna River in the Pine Brook Neighborhood. Turn West on Poplar Street from Wyoming Avenue near Scranton Prep, follow Poplar Street to the River and turn left.
