Lackawanna College is a private, two-year college with a mission of providing opportunity for everyone through higher education degree programs and continuing education courses. The main campus complex is located in downtown Scranton with satellite centers in Honesdale, Hazleton, Towanda and New Milford. The Scranton campus is located in the Gothic District of downtown. It offers meeting space as well as a fully restored historic theater with seating for up to 1,052 people making it perfect for presentations or performances.
Utilizing a combination of quality academic courses, dedicated faculty, small classes, and state-of-the-art technology, Lackawanna grants associate degrees in 28 major areas of study, as well as certificate programs, continuing education classes and job skills training.
Lackawanna graduates are actively recruited by other colleges and universities, with the majority transferring directly to four-year institutions to continue their education. The college remains accessible to students and families with affordable tuition fees and an open admissions policy.
Lackawanna also operates a Police Academy, Paramedic Training Institute, Local Government Academy and an Environmental Institute.
