Every April, excitement builds as fans return to PNC Field in Moosic, PA, for a new season of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders baseball. Being the home of the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees gives Lackawanna County a chance to see future Major League All-Stars in action. Each game also offers delicious food and affordable fun for the entire family. With the season lasting until September, a trip to the ballpark is an excellent way to enjoy a warm summer day in NEPA.
Weekly Promotions
Every day of the week brings something special to the SWB RailRiders baseball schedule.
- Tuesdays: For a truly affordable outing, enjoy $5 lawn seat tickets for all and $2 16 oz. Coors Light cans for fans 21 and older.
- Wednesdays: Dogs attend free, so bring your best (four-legged) friend with you to the game. You can also enjoy $2 hot dogs.
- Thursdays: Thirsty Thursday means $2 16 oz. Michelob Ultra bottles for fans over 21, as well as $2 Pepsi fountain drinks for everyone.
- Fridays: To honor first responders, 100 tickets are given away to these heroes on a first-come, first-serve basis. Then stick around after the game for the best fireworks show in northeast Pennsylvania!
- Saturdays: Check the RailRiders baseball schedule for great giveaways and special-themed events.
- Sundays: On Family FunDays, kids can play catch on the field before the game and run the bases afterward, then cool down with $2 Mamita’s Ices or Dippin’ Dots.
More Special Promotions
In addition to all the weekly excitement, some games feature extra special guests, activities, or community promotions.
Autographed jerseys are occasionally raffled off to support local causes. Guests are encouraged to dress up for special theme nights like Princesses & Pirates and Marvel Superheroes. Sensory-friendly games reduce ballpark sounds and offer sensory-friendly activities so all can enjoy a day at PNC Field.
Some events feature local celebrities, like “The Office” Night on June 29, 2024, when you can celebrate the sitcom that made Scranton a household name. Leslie David Baker, who played Stanley Hudson, will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans. The first 2,500 attendees will also receive a Stanley bobblehead to remember the occasion! Take a Trolley to the Game
If you want to ride the rails yourself, you can take a historic trolley from downtown Scranton to PNC Field on select Sundays throughout the season. The roundtrip cost for the trolley and the game is $25, or $15 if you’ve already purchased your RailRiders ticket. Be sure to reserve your seat ahead of time with the Electric City Trolley Station & Museum, which will be your starting point.
