Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, Lackawanna County’s most unique festival only takes place in two places in the world: The sister Cities of Jessup, Pennsylvania, and Gubbio, Italy. Brought to Jessup in 1909, St. Ubaldo Day was a way for immigrants from Gubbio who largely settled in Jessup to feel connected to the home they left behind.
For over 100 years, this celebration has brought thousands of spectators to Lackawanna County to join in the fun. This wonderful tradition is an exciting combination of color, culture, pride, and faith that the whole family will enjoy.
While you are in town, be sure to check out the Jessup Hose Co. #2 Annual Carnival that accompanies the St. Ubaldo festivities. You’ll find delicious homemade food, rides, games, and nightly entertainment. Experience St. Ubaldo once, and we bet you’ll make it an annual tradition, too.

La Corsa dei Ceri is a fast-paced procession of the three saints' statues: St. Ubaldo, St. George., and St. Anthony. Sant' Ubaldo always "wins." It's his day, after all!
The ceraioli, capodieci, capocette, and others will celebrate a successful end of the Corsa with a procession of the disassembled ceri, stanghe, and saints to the Saint Ubaldo Society Cultural Center.
