Lackawanna County is four seasons of fun and adventure! No matter the time of year, we have festivals, sporting events, concerts, parades, and more to help plan your itinerary when you visit Lackawanna County.
Spring welcomes a plethora of fairs and festivals for your family to enjoy. Enjoy the crack of the baseball as the SWB RailRiders begin their season. Bring the whole family to the Lackawanna County Heritage Fair and spend the day in the waterpark and on the amusement rides. Head out to Downtown Scranton and watch the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Jessup is only one of two places in the world where the Running of the Saints happens on St. Ubaldo Day. Drink in spring at the Spring Wine Fest and Spring BrewFest. Shed the cabin fever!
As the temperatures rise, so does the summer excitement! Music lovers flock to Montage Mountain for The Peach Music Festival and Camp Bisco in early summer. Enjoy a live concert on top of a mountain and under the stars at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain, relax in the lazy river, speed down the water slides, or cruise down the mountain on the ZipRiders at Montage Mountain Resorts Waterpark, and eat all the cannoli you possibly can at La Festa Italiana. Don't forget about the local Independence Day fireworks displays!
"Fall" in love with our kaleidoscope of colors as our landscapes turn to yellow, red, and orange. Pick your perfect pumpkin and enjoy other outdoor fall activities at Roba Family Farms, go apple and sunflower picking at Lakeland Orchard & Cidery, brave our haunted attractions like Reaper's Revenge Haunted Attraction or walk The Dunmore Cemetery Tour, and celebrate the season at the Bonfire Festival at the Scranton Iron Furnaces!
Winter welcomes the first snowfall, which means skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing at Montage Mountain Resorts. Watch the mountain come alive at the annual Torchlight Parade & Fireworks event. Take in the glow of the holiday lights at the Holiday Light Spectacular at Nay Aug Park and other local holiday light displays or ride with Santa and his friends on the trolley and train excursions. Watch live ice carvings at the Clarks Summit Festival of Ice, or paddle down the river at ShiverFest.
