Take the Steamtown train to the station that started it all 25 years ago. In 1993, Steamtown National Historic Site re-opened the Pocono Mountain Route of the Lackawanna Railroad with steam-powered excursions. They are continuing a tradition all these years later, with a few changes.
Today's train, led by diesel-electric power, will whisk you away through the North Pocono region with an hour layover at the 1904 Moscow railroad station. Their hosts, the Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Chapter, NRHS are celebrating their 45th year in preserving railroad history. They are also Steamtown's partner in restoring the Boston & Maine 4-6-2 no 3713.
