Tobyhanna: Fall Foliage and Blueberries

Ride the train to the top of the Pocono Plateau and the village of Tobyhanna. Take a half-mile hike to Mill Pond #1, where you can learn about the once-booming ice industry, or join the Coolbaugh Township Historical Association for a walking tour of the town! Enjoy light refreshments provided by the Pocono Rail Historical Society and tour the historic Tobyhanna Station and the train station museum.

The Tobyhanna train station was built in 1908 by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad and was leased and restored by the Pocono Mountain Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society in 1994. Today, the station serves as the chapter’s meeting space and houses a collection of railroad artifacts, including two running model train layouts plus a small gift shop.

Picnic tables are available, porta-lavs are available on days of excursions, plenty of free parking. The station is able to accept credit card payments via Square. The station is located next to an active freight railroad for the train enthusiast.

Tickets for this event will be available on Saturday, July 6th, 2024. To purchase tickets for this Excursion, please visit Recreation.Gov.

NOTICE: Train rides are subject to cancellation due to mechanical issues, inclement weather, or crew availability.
