Steamtown Excursion - Carbondale: Autumn Marketplace

Take a scenic train ride through the Lackawanna Valley along the old Delaware & Hudson Railroad tracks to Carbondale, PA.

Carbondale’s present-day train station was built on the site of the Delaware and Hudson Seventh Avenue train station that was opened on February 1, 1896. Local and express trains, both north and south, from Carbondale arrived and departed from Carbondale on a daily basis. In the 1950s, as many as fifteen passenger trains departed daily from this station for Scranton.

Light food and refreshments will be available for purchase as part of the May 20th Spring Marketplace. There are limited amenities available at this site for the June 10th Outdoor Excursion, and participants should plan ahead and be prepared with a sufficient water supply.
