Carbondale’s present-day train station was built on the site of the Delaware and Hudson Seventh Avenue train station that was opened on February 1, 1896. Local and express trains, both north and south, from Carbondale arrived and departed from Carbondale on a daily basis. In the 1950s, as many as fifteen passenger trains departed daily from this station for Scranton.
The train ride will last approximately 1.5 hours; departing Steamtown at 9:30 AM. and arriving in Carbondale at 11 AM. There will be a 2.5-hour layover at the Carbondale Station for the event. Returning train ride will last approximately 1.5 hours; departing Carbondale at 1:30 PM and arriving in Steamtown at 3 PM.
