"Tranquil Currents" by Mark Chuck will be on exhibit from Saturday, January 27th through Saturday, March 2nd in the Suraci Gallery at Marywood University's Shields Center for Visual Arts. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, January 27th, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

Tranquil Currents is a series of ceramic mugs, plates, vessels, and sculptures inspired by a lifetime of observation, appreciation, and, often, awe, of the magnificent creatures that live in the water and landscapes of northeastern Pennsylvania. Each piece is an ode to their natural beauty. Artist Mark Chuck, a ceramic artist and lifelong fisherman, begins his creative process long before entering the studio–on the banks of a river. Chuck, who teaches ceramics at Marywood, creates his works from porcelain, sculpting, and glazing each piece by hand.
