The historic Scranton Iron Furnaces in the heart of Downtown Scranton will provide a stunning backdrop and add a unique atmosphere for the Scranton Shakespeare Festival's 10th anniversary summer season. Enjoy free outdoor performances throughout the summer!

Hamlet is considered by scholars the best-written work in the English language. This new production is set in a generation, or two, away from our own. We find ourselves in the rotten state of Denmark where paranoia, intrigue, murder, love, lust, and even the dead are among us. Though this play is over 400 years old its themes are everlasting. This production, rooted in Shakespeare’s beautiful text, blossoms into an interpretation, unlike anything you remember from your high school literature class.

Parental guidance is recommended for audience members under 13 years of age.
