Join us in Downtown Carbondale for the Annual LIGHTED ST. PATRICK’S PARADE! ☘️ This year is a bit different due to COVID, so the celebration is tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2021! We'll celebrate our area's Irish heritage no matter what month it is!
Did you know that the first SAINT PATRICK’S DAY PARADE in Lackawanna County was held in Carbondale on March 17, 1833? According to the "Northern Pennsylvanian," the first printed publication in the Pioneer City, three (3) feet of snow blanketed the region during the days leading up to the parade, but that did not deter the steadfast and devoted Hibernians who gathered and marched through downtown Carbondale to pay homage to St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of their native land – Ireland.
