The historic Scranton Iron Furnaces will be the setting for the 13th annual Arts on Fire Festival, hosted by the PA Anthracite Heritage Museum. Located just off downtown Scranton, the festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, and Sunday, June 9th. It will feature a diverse lineup of activities, including an iron pour, scratch blocks, live music, food, crafts, and educational exhibits from the museum's partners.

The event is free to the public and runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days.

Metal artist Brian Glaze will be in charge of operating the cupola furnace and conducting a molten iron pour in the afternoon. Attendees will have the opportunity to etch their designs onto scratch blocks, which will then be cast in molten iron by the Scranton crew, providing a unique memento of the festival. The event will also host a variety of food trucks and art vendors throughout the weekend. On Sunday, special art classes will be available, including photography, painting, blacksmithing, and weaving.

Check out the PA Anthracite Heritage Museum website and Facebook Page for updated event info.

This event is made possible with the support of Lackawanna County commissioners Bill Gaughan, Matt McGloin, and Chris Chermak, the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority, and the Anthracite Heritage Museum and Iron Furnaces Associates.
