If biking, hiking or running is your thing, Lackawanna County has a trail for you. Lackawanna Heritage Valley and our county parks have miles of well-maintained trails for you to enjoy.
The Lackawanna River, as well as lakes and ponds throughout the county, provide peaceful places to cast a line for your favorite catch. It is a terrific way to be at one with nature.
We have no shortage of places to ski, choose Montage Mountain with a near-to-town, urban experience or Elk Mountain with away-from-it-all slopes. Montage is a quick drive from downtown Scranton and the slopes can be seen from Highway 81 so bring your skis or snowboard the next time you have a meeting scheduled for the area. Montage offers skiing, snowboarding, airboarding and tubing while Elk offers skiing and snowboarding only. Elk is in our neighboring county, a short drive from Clarks Summit and provides challenging skiing and snowboarding throughout the season.
