We hit a home run when it comes to activities for the sports enthusiast. You can take in a ball game at PNC Field:  home to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, the New York Yankees Triple-A farm team; watch the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins face off on the ice at Wachovia Arena, root for your favorite arena league football team at a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Pioneers game or participate in the “fandimonium” that ensues at the Pocono 500.

Winter sports abound in our region.  You can ski, snow tube, snow board or just sit by the fire at one of two great locations:  Snö Mountain Ski Resort and Elk Mountain Ski Resort.  Ice or roller skate at the Ice Box Skating Complex or shoot some hoops at the Riverfront Sports recreational facility.

In the summer, you can swim at one of many public pools and the soon to be open Sno Cove Water Park on Montage Mountain.  Be sure to check out Nay Aug Park’s waterslides and hike the Davis Trail to the overlook at “the Gorge.”  You can fish and boat at the Lackawanna State Park, camp at one of our many campgrounds or go horseback riding or bicycling on one of our many trails.

Try your luck at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs; or wage a water war at Lahey Family Fun Park or Moss Hollow Creek Family Park.
