If you like to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, or simply like to celebrate, then why not do it early?  Since 1962 the St. Patrick’s Parade Association of Lackawanna County conducts the nationally acclaimed parade—the weekend before the blessed feast day.  This “rite of spring” (Scranton’s version of Mardi Gras) provides enormous stimulation for the young and young-at-heart!   One of the largest parades in the country!  www.stpatparade.com.  Post Parade Party at the Scranton Cultural Center will be from noon to 5:00 p.m.  No admission fee, great live entertainment and a smoke free environment make the Scranton Cultural Center’s this best deal in the city.  This party also includes performances from many of the parade groups, including step dancers, drum and pipe corps bands and a surprise performance or two!  Food and refreshments available for sale.

Come to the Scranton Cultural Center and continue the St. Patrick’s Day celebration! The party doesn’t have to stop when the parade ends.  — The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is once again the place to be after this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Center’s annual Post Parade Party will immediately follow the parade on March 12, 2011. The party begins at 11 AM and continues until 5 PM with live entertainment. A cash bar and a variety of delicious food for purchase are available for parade goers. Parade performers are also stopping by throughout the day.
